About
Fakira
‘Fakira’ blending Bengali folk music with Sant Kabir’s songs, is an exciting fusion of two rich cultural traditions. Bengali folk defines Fakira’s signature style, and draws deeply from Bengali folk traditions like Baul, Bhatiyali, and Jhumur, which are known for their spiritual and philosophical themes. These forms, often dealing with life, nature, love, and the search for the divine, are spiritually aligned with the teachings of Kabir. Kabir’s philosophy is infused within Fakira - Sant Kabir’s songs are known for their profound simplicity and universal messages, focusing on unity, self-realisation, and the futility of ritualism. By merging the rustic, soul-searching essence of Bengali folk music with Kabir’s transcendent poetry, Fakira will offer audiences a culturally rich and spiritually resonant experience, appealing to both fans of folk music and those who appreciate the universal messages of Sant Kabir.
