A Carnatic Quartet

A Carnatic Quartet, conceptualised and curated by Shreya Devnath, features Shreya Devnath (Violin), Mylai M Karthikeyan (Nagaswaram), Thirunageswaram TRS Manikandan (Mridangam) and Adyar G Silambarasan (Thavil).

This quartet has been conceptualised as a coming together of two distinct instrumental art forms within the Carnatic tradition. The melodic instruments in this collaboration- violin and nagaswaram - come from very different cultural and musical backgrounds, as is the case with the mridangam and thavil. ACQ will perform a range of compositions from the Carnatic and Semi Classical repertoire, interpreted through their instruments, exploring themes of divinity, nature, and their interconnectedness.
