Purnesh Bhagwat
Purnesh Bhagwat belongs to a family of traditional musicians in Varanasi and trained in the tabla of the Banaras gharana from the age of three under his father, Pt. Pundalik Bhagwat ji, a famous tabla player and vocalist. He also trained in Hindustani classical vocals for nine years under his father and in the complex style of tappa under his uncle Dr. Shri Ramchandra Bhagwat ji. He is currently taking advanced training in Hindustani classical vocals at Vishwashanti Gurukul at MIT, Pune, under the great doyen of classical music, Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar ji.
